Terms of Service | Cumulative Budget

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the Cumulative Budget application and website (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

Cumulative Budget is a personal finance application that helps you track income and expenses, project future balances, set financial goals, manage shared budget accounts, and get answers to financial questions through an AI assistant. The Service is available as an Android app and a web application at https://cumulativebudget.com.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of that organization.

3. Account and Authentication

You sign in to the Service using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@cumulativebudget.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Cumulative Budget offers a free tier and optional paid subscriptions. Subscriptions are available through Google Play and are subject to Google Play's terms.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Google Play account.
Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policy.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice.

5. AI Assistant

The Service includes an AI-powered financial assistant. Please note:

The AI assistant provides general financial information and projections based on data you enter. It is not a licensed financial advisor.
AI responses are for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated responses.
Always consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
Transmit any harmful, offensive, or malicious content through the Service.
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission.
Interfere with the proper working of the Service or its infrastructure.

7. Your Data

You retain ownership of all financial data and content you create within the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your data solely to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your data.

8. Shared Accounts

You may share budget accounts with other users. When you share an account, you are responsible for the permissions you grant. We are not responsible for actions taken by users you have granted access to your account. Sharing an account means you accept that the other user may view or edit your shared financial data according to the permissions set.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Cumulative Budget and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cumulative Budget shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or financial losses arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your account and data by contacting us at support@cumulativebudget.com.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes may be submitted to competent courts with jurisdiction.
